In October 2017 the landscape of Sonoma County was changed forever.

Fire has destroyed over 5,000 structures and charred over 110,000 acres in Sonoma County, CA.  it has been called the worst fire disaster in California history.  The fast moving nature of the fires left many residents time to escape with nothing more than the clothes on their backs.  Mementos, photographs, family histories, and historical sites were all lost.

The Sonoma County Community Memory Map serves to provide a central place where people can share photographs and stories of the places that we lost overnight. Through the power of community, we aim to reconstruct a digital collective memory.  Residents and visitors of beautiful Sonoma County can share their recollections of the places we no longer have.

I invite you to upload your own photographs and stories to the Memory Map.  Click here to get started.
